In this ever so changing music industry most artists struggle to find their identity, often riding the vigorous wave of what's "in" instead of staying true to their God-given talent and enhancing from whence they came from. Others can't bear to deal with the harsh realities of everyday life's ups and downs obstacles and adversities problems and solutions. This is in fact is not the case for Richmond California artist Saeed.
Saeed is making his music and making it count! With a strong work ethic, Saeed never takes his privilege to do music full time for granted. Constantly reminding himself of the journey and where he wants to go next in his vision!

What city are you from/Where are you based now? Saeed: Richmond, California. Currently based in Southern California. What is your artist name? What is your real name? How did you get your artist name? Saeed: My artist name is my real name. When I was younger I used a few different aliases or music monikers but ultimately I was just me at the end of the day. Just Saeed! At what point in your life did you decide to pursue a career in music? Saeed: I started taking my passion for music seriously around 2015. But I’ve been writing music since 7th grade. Has your upbringing played a role in shaping who you are and defining your sound today? If so, how? Saeed: My upbringing had a lot to do with defining my sound. I think my environment both good and bad, was able to shape who I am not only as a man but as an artist as well. It put a lot more emphasis into the positives and negatives that I was exposed to. Which allowed me to touch on a lot of different topics. How would you describe your sound to readers who may not be familiar with you? Saeed: I think my sound is described in a lot of different realms of sound. I never want to put my sound in a box. However I will say it all incorporates soul and realism. What ultimately inspired you to dedicate yourself to a music career? Saeed: I think growing up listening to so many different artists from different regions of the country as well as different genres inspired my passion to create. What’s one reason you are passionate about music and what inspires you? Saeed: Music is my soul’s outlet to vent or praise. Some people go to church. Some people go to the gym. Some people go to the library. I
go to the studio. My family and children inspire me to want to be a better artist as well as a better man.

Tell us about the project that you are promoting. What is it about? is it a single or EP? Also, what is the name of the last project you released?
Saeed: I'm dropping a EP January 29th that I drop annually called #All4Siah this will be the 4th installment of the series. The project is a tribute to my younger cousin Josiah Shabazz Lightfoot who was innocently killed in a drive by shooting in San Francisco in 2017. My last project was called “Consistency” fully produced by Larrie Lawson you can find it on all streaming platforms.
What has been the response been like to that project?
Saeed: The response for that project was crazy. The love was nothing like I expected. Im still getting the kudos from that project.
What are some projects you’ve done in the past that you are most proud of and why?
Saeed: I think I'm proud of all of my projects. Each project receives a bigger response each time I drop. Especially each #All4Siah project I gain more fans and supporters. But I think #WriteNow fully produced by Christiamentalz with one song produced by Trey Parker “Right Now” is my most complete body of work. I think we covered all bases on that project.
